Watterson Towers.
Watterson is designed in suites, an alternative to the traditional corridor-style residence hall.
Each suite of six separate rooms for twelve residents is single-sex and contains one restroom with two sinks, two toilets, and two showers. Each tower contains five “houses” consisting of five floors each. The elevator stops on the third floor of each house. Students on floors one, two, four, and five must use the stairway to reach their rooms. Starting at the bottom and working up, the houses are arranged as follows: Smith and Jefferson, Monroe and Randolph, Adams and Pickering, Clay and Marshall, and Van Buren and Madison. All the South Tower Houses (Smith, Monroe, Adams, Clay, Van Buren) have beds that are bunkable. In the North Tower Madison and Marshall have bunkable beds; Pickering, Randolph, and Jefferson have non-bunkable beds that roll. All desks in Watterson are movable except Jefferson floors 1 and 2. Watterson is across from Stevenson Hall and adjacent to downtown Normal. Watterson is wired for direct network access via ResNet. Lifestyles available in Watterson are Quiet and Restricted Visitation. Watterson Towers is air-conditioned until mid-September.
As with all Illinois State University residence halls, ample study locations are available at this location for students looking for a quiet place outside their room.
