Politics and Government Living Learning Community. This community is for students majoring or minoring in political science and/or have a strong interest in political science.

This community provides you with the opportunity for academic support, career exploration, and integrated social experiences.

Community programs and activities are geared toward your academic and career interests, and include opportunities for you to interact with faculty outside the classroom.

 

How to live in the Political Science Community

Students who are not Political Science major or minors, but have an interest in political science and who are interested in participating and living in this community must complete the Political Science Community Application. Acceptance to the community is based on individual responses to the questions on the application.  If you are a major or minor you do not have to fill out an application.

 

The community offers many opportunities for academic and social interaction:

  • Interaction with faculty outside of the classroom
  • High-quality programming to enhance your discovery of Political Science
  • In-hall academic advising before registration each semester
  • Study sessions for classes
  • Opportunities to interact with professionals and alumni who are currently pursuing careers in Political Science
  • Field trips to support career exploration
  • Personal and floor volunteer opportunities to share your increasing expertise in the Political Science field with the Bloomington-Normal community (i.e.helping with campaigns)
  • Opportunities to meet and learn from juniors and seniors who are currently pursuing a degree in Political Science

Policy

  1. Residents must be political science majors/minor or have a strong interest in politics.
  2. Residents must attend at least one in-house political science–related program each semester.
  3. Residents must abide by the quiet lifestyle policy.
  4. Residents must attend two political science related activities/programs a year (i.e. global review, undergraduate research symposium etc.).
