Communication Living Learning Community. This Community is for students majoring or minoring in communication.

This community provides you with the opportunity for academic support, career exploration, and integrated social experiences.

Community programs and activities are geared toward your academic and career interests, and include opportunities for you to interact with faculty outside the classroom.

How to live in the Communication Community

Students who are Communication Majors or Minors and wish to live on the floor must complete the Communication Application. All first year and returning students must complete this application. Acceptance in the community is based on individual responses to the questions on the application.

The community offers many opportunities for academic and social interaction, including:

  • Interaction with faculty outside of the classroom
  • High-quality programming to enhance your discovery of the field of Communication
  • In-hall academic advising before registration each semester
  • Study sessions for communication classes
  • Opportunities to interact with professionals and alumni who are currently pursuing careers in Communication
  • Field trips to support career exploration in Communication
  • Personal and floor volunteer opportunities to share your increasing expertise in the Communication field with the Bloomington-Normal community
  • Opportunities to meet and learn from juniors and seniors who are currently in the School of Communication

Policy

  1. Residents must be communication majors or minors
  2. Residents must abide by the quiet lifestyle policy (beginning at 9pm Sunday through Thursday)
  3. Residents must attend 3 social programs and 2 communication-related educational programs and communication-related service project each semester or they will be relocated to a different room at the end of the semester
