Cultural Dinners

Cultural Dinners

Cultural dinners are a great way to learn about other cultures and issues while having fun. Our goal is to get the you as close as you will ever get to compelling individuals of national and international acclaim, while enjoying some fabulous entertainment and the awesomely delicious foods prepared by Campus Dining Services’ award winning chefs. Here’s what others who have attended have to say about Cultural Dinners:

“The Cultural Dinners are an experience that you honestly cannot forget. I mean, when you get the chance to meet people like Common, America Ferrera, and Aasiff Mandvi, you do not forget that experience. Then, when you add in the fact you learn about their past and how their culture shaped or influenced who they are, you cannot help but relate, and that is what I absolutely love about the dinners. You start off with a speaker, add a dialog, bring in aspects of other cultures, and then you end up with this amazing experience that so many people come to enjoy.”

-Angel Miranda, Former ARH President

“Cultural dinners are fun. Last year I saw B. D. Wong give a talk. He was very well spoken and interesting to listen to. I would definitely recommend going to a cultural dinner.”

-David Mendell, ISU Student

“My favorite part of the Latino Cultural Dinner was learning so much about America Ferrera. There were so many things about her that I did not know and I’m looking forward to continuing the excitement of learning new things about the special guests of the future Cultural Dinners.”

-Maggie Reuter, ISU Student Worker

“The cultural dinners put on by University Housing are unique experiences that we are very fortunate to have. They give you the opportunity to learn about, experience, and gain an appreciation for cultures that are different from your own.”
