The process current residence hall students go through to submit a room and meal contract for the following year and choose a room is known as contract renewal.
In February current residence hall students who have a high school graduation date of December 1, 2006 or later will receive a contract renewal brochure and instructions. This information explains about University Housing Services' on-line contract renewal program that current residents use to renew their residence hall contract and select a room for the following year.
Additional charge to renew the contract
Students who do not go through the online Contract Renewal process between February 25 and March 7 can fill out an application that will be available online at the University Housing Services website which our office will keep on file through the summer. If space becomes available, we will make room offers based on when the application was received. This application does not guarantee housing .
Room selection process
Returning students who were able to renew their contract also have the opportunity to enter the room selection process that is used by new students during the summer to look for rooms that may come available or to make other changes. This process begins in early May and goes through June.
Room changes during the semester
If you are interested in making a room change once the semester starts, room changes should be arranged through your Residence Hall Coordinator.
Second semester room change
Provided residence hall space is available, students may make room and roommate changes for second semester via an on-line system. The second semester room change process occurs in November and December. Written information about the process will be sent in November to every resident.
Meal plan changes
Meal plan changes may be made up through the Tuesday before the residence halls open for that semester. The change may be made by submitting an online Meal Plan Change Form or a hard copy form available in the Office of Residential Life on University Street. Meal plan changes cannot be made once the residence halls open for the semester.
